PHILOSOPHY & CURRICULUM

PHILOSOPHY
Our philosophy focuses on the following principles:

  1. The Center believes that children are born with the innate desire to explore their world.
  2. The role of education and teachers is to feed this desire by creating a safe and stimulating environment where each child is free to explore and question, to discover and grow.
  3. We believe in progressivism philosophy. As our world changes, our teaching styles and strategies also change that will best fit to the children's need.
  4. We believe that every individual is unique and we should be responsible facilitators of learning.
  5. We believe that all children will learn in their own capacities with proper guidance and motivation.

    CURRICULUM

The school follows the Department of Education's (DepEd) prescribed Minimum Learning Competencies, which emphasize the inclusive system. An Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) is prepared to meet the diversified needs and abilities of each pupil.

Curriculum adaptation and modification are implemented for children with special needs.

VISION & MISSION

Nancy's Development and Learning Center (NDLC) is committed to provide an educational environment that is responsive to meet the needs and abilities of the pupils by:

Providing the least restricted environment to allow all children to learn;

Extending learning horizons beyond the classroom;

Attending and honing the varied need and abilities of learners.

To develop the child to become a person, a learner, a citizen and a wholesome individual who will become an active member of the community.
To develop the child in a holistic way to prepare him to formal education.

Specifically the areas that will be focused on are the development and enhancement of their self-esteem and acceptance and respect for self and others. In addition, it will also instill a sense of nationalism to develop a new generation of Filipinos to become productive and successful members of society.
